Vogue magazine is taking initiative on improving the working conditions and well-being of models by banning the use of models under the age of 16 years old, as well as models who “appear to” have eating disorders. This is all apart of a goal to promote healthier body images to the world of Vogue readers. For models under the age of 16, Vogue will “help to structure mentoring programs where more mature models are able to give advice and guidance to younger girls.” This will hopefully have a big impact on designers and other leaders in the fashion industry to do the same!
